Canton or Cantonese porcelain is the characteristic style of ceramic ware decorated in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, the sole legal port for exporting Chinese goods to Europe. It was one of the significant forms of export ware produced in China in the 18th and 20th centuries.

In decorative art, the peacock symbolizes dignity and beauty. In China, the bird was a symbol of the Ming Dynasty, representing divinity, rank, power, and beauty. In Chinese culture, the lotus symbolizes the heart and mind's ultimate purity because it rises untainted and beautiful from the mud. Includes a porcelain strainer to catch your tea leaves and a matching lid to keep your tea warm.
