Canton or Cantonese porcelain is the characteristic style of ceramic ware decorated in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, the sole legal port for exporting Chinese goods to Europe. It was one of the significant forms of export ware produced in China in the 18th and 20th centuries.

"Blue and white" porcelain covers a wide range of white pottery and porcelain decorated under the glaze with a blue pigment, generally cobalt oxide. The decoration is commonly applied by hand, originally by brush painting, but nowadays by stencilling or by transfer-printing, though other methods of application have also been used. This vintage small plate is great as a decorative piece or to use for serving food.
