Fujii Seisakusho, is a studio, run by the husband-and-wife duo Kenichi and Minako Fujii. Each piece is handmade, making mass production impossible, but they strive to showcase the diverse possibilities of lacquer.
Their bowls and plates, which often retain visible turning marks or are coated with polishing powder, are both scratch-resistant and forgiving in appearance. White lacquer is made by mixing white pigment into clear lacquer, resulting in a soft, creamy color.These pieces are as practical as they are beautifully designed.
